Willington Winding Hole is a village on the Trent and Mersey Canal (Main Line - Derwent Mouth to Burton) between River Dove Aqueduct No 23 (2 miles and ¼ furlongs to the west) and Swarkestone Junction (Junction of Derby and Trent and Mersey Canals) (5 miles and 2½ furlongs and 1 lock to the east).

Mooring here is "good" - a nice place to moor

Recent enhancement(?) to The (Green) Dragon pub includes an outside eating/drinking area good for some but unfortunately abused by others. This area is directly behind photographer position. Booking essential for 'busy' days (Fri/Sat/Sun/B Hols) if you want to eat - 01283 704795 http://www.thedragonatwillington.co.uk/ I have no commercial connection with this establishment!
