Salter's Lode Junction is a major waterways place at the junction of the Middle Level Navigations (Well Creek) with the River Great Ouse (New Bedford River) and the River Great Ouse (Large Tidal Section).
Outwell (Junction of Old River Nene with Well Creek) is on the Middle Level Navigations (Old River Nene), 5 miles and 3¼ furlongs and 1 lock to the west. Great Ouse - Old Bedford River Junction (Junction of the River Great Ouse and the Old Bedford River) is on the River Great Ouse (New Bedford River), ½ furlongs to the south. Downham Bridge (Downham Market 1 mile east) is on the River Great Ouse (Large Tidal Section), 1 mile to the northeast.
