River Yonne

 

The River Yonne is a large river and is part of the Waterways of Mainland Europe. It runs for through 26 locks from Seine - Yonne Jonction (where it joins the River Seine - Upper Seine and the River Seine - Petite Seine) to Auxerre (where it joins the Canal du Nivernais (Main Line)).

The maximum dimensions for a boat to be able to travel on the waterway are 94 metres long and 8.10 metres wide. The maximum headroom is 4.40 metres. The maximum draught is 1.80 metres.

It has a junction with the Canal de Bourgogne at Yonne - Bourgogne Jonction.

The Yonne is a river in France, left tributary of the Seine. It is 292 kilometres (181 mi) long. The river gives its name to the Yonne département. It rises in the Nièvre département, in the Morvan hills near Château-Chinon. It flows into the river Seine in Montereau-Fault-Yonne.
